THE GLOBAL EDUCATION DAY MEETUP AT ISTE 2020
Join Lucy Gray, Steve Hargadon and many members of the Global Education Conference community on Sunday, June 28th from 2:00 - 5:00PM at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA, for a special face-to-face meeting.
This meet up for educators will take place at the International Society for Technology in Education Conference (ISTE). Although the event itself is free, participants will need to be registered for the ISTE conference. Attendees are responsible for their own transportation to this event.
This participatory event will feature:
Anyone is allowed to attend; for profits, however, must be a sponsor of our event in order to speak, facilitate a roundtable or distribute materials.

- Inspirational ignite talks by noted educators and organizations working to connect classrooms
- Design activities related to bringing the UN's Sustainable Development Goals into schools
- A global resource cool tools smackdown in which attendees will share the best resources and tools for creating global experiences for students
- Resources from participating global education non-profit organizations

Applicants for the following activities must be educators in K12 non-profit schools or organization leaders from non-profits. If you represent a for-profit school or company, you are welcome to attend our event, but you must be a sponsor of our event in order to take on a leadership role. 1) Design sprint facilitators - This year, our participants will be coming up with ideas on how to bring the UN's Sustainable Development Goals into schools. Volunteers can help these design activities and no particular expertise required. We just need your enthusiasm!
2) Ignite speakers - We also will be hosting ignite talks. Ignite talks are very short presentations with 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds. These presentations should relate to global education topics.
3) Global Resources Fair - We will host an informal global resources fair at GED and will have tables available where non-profit organizations and sponsors can place materials for attendees.
4) Global Resources Smackdown - Sign up for the Global Resources Smackdown. This annual activity occurs at the end of this session. Volunteers sign up to show a tool or resource that supports globally connected teaching and learning.

ISTE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED
Please register for the ISTE conference (registration requires payment) on the ISTE's website. Global Education Day does not require additional payment.
All people interested in global education are welcome to attend on a first come, first served basis. Seats will be held for those who have signed up to lead the activities listed above. For profits interested in taking an active role in this event should contact Steve Hargadon regarding partnership possibilities.
